Good Tuesday afternoon healing team!
If this is your first time to receive an email from us, Welcome to T Chiropractic and Acupuncture!
I have heard it usually takes three weeks to develop a new habit, but man, I tell you this new lifestyle has not been easy at all.
I would like to talk about three things today.
1. Let’s count your blessings! Numbers of cases and deaths related to COVID-19 has been increasing everyday. Why not challenge ourselves to start counting blessings throughout a day?
What is blessing? Great question.
James 1:17 ESV
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.
I believe everything comes from the Father, God in heaven is a blessing! You woke up this morning and have a chance to enjoy another day no matter what circumstances we are in.
Not only we get to enjoy a day, we have a chance to glorify Him.
Matthew 5:16 ESV
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
Population of Texas 28.7 millions (In 2018). We can account 28.7 million blessings in Texas alone. Everything is BIG in Texas, and blessing counts are BIG in Texas too! That’s more than COVID-19 cases in the world.
That does not mean you can forget about government required actions we need to take to fight against COVID-19. Wash your hands, social distance and so on.
2. You (God) take what the enemy meant for evil and You turn it for good.
This is a chorus from “See a Victory” by Elevation worship.
Ten of us from a life group went to Japan last October for a mission trip. We had struggles. It did not go like we planned. You can find out from what happened from my previous email. https://chirodrt.com/when-you-think-you-failed-god-1-14-20
Because we are not going back to a church we worked with, I went to find another church to work with near in the future in my hometown.
Since I have only been to a church once, I asked my mom to go and find out about them every Sundays. She has not missed one church service since her first visit in February. Now, she goes to bible study on Wednesdays too.
Two Sundays ago, My mom invited my grandma, who is healthy 95 years old, to go with her since she would be at home by herself.
My grandma replied she would. My mom asked her again, this is a church. Are you okay going to a church? My grandma replied sure.
My grandma attended a church service for the first time on March 22nd 2020. She loved praise and worship songs. So she went back again last Sunday.
This development is very huge. My grandma was a reason what I struggled to be a Christian for years.
Back in 1999, my grandpa’s funeral at family grave, it was a way long before I knew anything about the Good news, she asked me to promise that I would take care of family grave. (In Japanese culture, after cementation, one buried in a family grave and it is the first sons’ job to take good care of it.) I told her I would. But, if I become a Christian, I would not believe in Shinto anymore (a main Japanese religion).
It was a big struggle because not only I did not want to betray my grandma, whom I made the promise at my family grave on my grandpa’s funeral, but also my ancestors who I have taught they were protecting me.
For her to go to a church and enjoyed her experience at church is; like I say , it is HUGE.
I thought I failed a mission trip because we are not going back to the same church again. But, I was able to find a church in my hometown and now my grandma is attending that church.
If God kept a door open for the first church, this miracle did not happen.
Failures, depressions and worries after the first mission trip was dark. But the Father of lights shines His plan and it is a shining hope.
3. Be still
Our lifestyle has changed dramatically last a few weeks. We now have time for things we used not to. We live fear of COVID-19. We have so much informations that we cannot process, which can lead into more fear and anxious. What should we do?
Psalm 46:1-2 (ESV)
God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way,
though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea,
He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;
he breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
he burns the chariots with fire.
He will end this war against COVID-19, I do now know how and when, but He will. I believe that.
“Be still, and know that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!”
I am sure you can testify how God’s goodness turned an “unfavorable” situation in your life into favorable situation for you.
Those who knows God through Jesus, who is your God?
Those who do not know Him like myself in 1999, God is the God of Love, Peace and full of Grace. (John 3:16) His resources are unlimited.(Ephesians 3:16 NLT) He will never leave you or forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:6)
He is the God who loves you so much, in your weakness, He will be your strength. (2 Corinthians 12:10)
First a few years of a christian life, I have heard above verses and statements so many times, but it took me years to sink down on me.
I am still digestion into my heart. However, hearing and reading about God for many times helped.
So, homework for you today.
Post on your social medias about God. He will be exalted among nations today.
This is not April Fool’s joke, let’s do it.
