Good morning healing team!
Experience is the great teacher.
Good or bad experiences, we can learn from them and hopefully to be a good experience.
Today, I would like to share this verse.
“For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”
This verse did not make sense for me for a long time. I have several people explained to me but I just did not get it.
I thought I understood this verse better after I went to Ghana for mission trips. I realized how blessed we are in the United States and their prayers was very humbling experience, how much they rely on God when they pray because often time, they have nothing so only thing they have is God.
But, I was not even close to understand this verse means until I had this recent experience.
I hope I can explain this well. A long story short, my son, 7 years old and I almost got drowned at the beach.
A lady was standing on the sand barrier to help us, however, I had my “ego” and “pride” that I did not wanted to ask for help when I thought we was in trouble. If I have asked her for help then, I did not put myself and my son in danger as much as I did.
I was thinking that I am in better shape than the lady standing on the sand barrier and I saw five of her family member helped her to get on the sand barrier. So how she can help us?
But, waves kept coming over the sand barrier toward us and every time I tried to put my son on the barrier miserably failed.
But I came to the pointe of desperation, so I finally asked her for help. She pulled my son out of water so easily.
Now, I had to get back on the sand barrier, and I was an idiot and still exalting myself, I did not ask her to give me a hand. I got up on the barrier a half way and her hand was there. I grabbed her hand and she pulled me all the way up on the sand barrier.
Gentlemen, ladies are strong! Don’t underestimate them and Matthew 23:12 is true!!!
Do not be like me for not asking for help when you need and don’t let “ego” or “pride” in your way. You do not need a lesson I had at the beach.
God put everyone (you) on the earth for reasons. You are precious to God.
“1 But now, this is what the Lord says—
he who created you, Jacob,
he who formed you, Israel:
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
2 When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.
Have a great day!
