Good Wednesday morning healing team!
Enjoy this extended hot weather, it won’t be like this hot in December…I hope.
Today, I would like to share John 5:5-8.
5 One of the men lying there had been sick for thirty-eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him and knew he had been ill (or condition NIV) for a long time, he asked him, “Would you like to get well?”7 “I can’t, sir,” the sick man said, “for I have no one to put me into the pool when the water bubbles up. Someone else always gets there ahead of me.”8 Jesus told him, “Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk!”
Just like this man, I have something I have been struggled with the same condition for a long time.
We all have at least one condition that we have been struggled with. It can be anxiety, addictions, stress, marriage, family, work, school, chronic physical conditions that required constant medical interventions and a list just will not stop.
God knows what you struggle with. He knows you have been in the same condition for weeks, months, or even years.
How do you answer when He asks you “Would you like to get well?
This man answered in verse 7 “I can’t, sir,” the sick man said, “for I have no one to put me into the pool when the water bubbles up. Someone else always gets there ahead of me.”
Now, I am not exactly sure how he was able to get to the well everyday for years. Some resources say that his neighbors, family or friends helped him to get there every day. But no one knew when the water bubble up so they could not stay with him all day everyday to get him into the pool because they have to work.
Does verse 7 sound like an excuse to you? His answer is it is what it is.
Are you laying down on the mat with the same condition and making the same excuse like too busy, don’t have enough resources or that too hard to do it, when you have a chance to get well?
Jesus did not tell a man what he needs to do, well, actually he did. He told a man on verse 8 ““Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk!”
I believe Jesus was standing in front of this man when He told this command and a man stoop up and walked toward Jesus. I believe the man was filled with a joy.
Can you stand up and pick up whatever you are laying on and take the first step of faith toward him when He ask you “Would you like to get well?
Let me know if you decided to take the first step of faith in Him, I can pray with you or go to someone you know that they will pray with you or go to a church and they will be happy to pray with you. Just don’t wait.
If you are a believer, He want you to walk in the light. With Him. All day, everyday. It is not easy, I fail to do so all day everyday. Life is tough.
John 8:12 Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”
Follow the light, you will be well soon.
Have a great rest of a week!
