A planning is a part of our lives. In order to accomplish all activities in a day, a good planning and execution are necessary.
We had a plan to leave for Paris on Thursday. We had a great plan. Air tickets, hotel accommodations and transportations were arranged, prepaid parking, museum passes have been purchased, and showed up DFW three hours prior to departure time. Everything was going as it planned until an agent told us she cannot check in my dad, because his passport will expire in less than three months.
France won’t allow anyone to enter the country with a passport expires in less than three months.
I explained to my dad that he cannot go to Paris because of his passport. He was shocked and disappointed. Then he told us to go on and he would figure out his way back to Rockwall.
My dad and mom flew from Japan so they can go on the trip with us, especially with my son. They want to spend as much time as possible with him.
Then my mom said that we three can go on and she and dad would stay behind.
With my selfishness, I thought about leaving them and going to Paris, but it did not feel right. I thought about my wife and I will go on and leaving my son with them… that did not feel right either. Then I thought about cancel this trip and stay home with them, it felt the right thing to do.
I won’t lie that I did not like to throw away all we paid for this trip, however, there were no anger or frustration, there was a “Peace” in my heart.
Sure I was disappointed, but there was a “Peace” that I have never experienced.
I would like to share a verse from Proverbs today.
“You can make many plans,
but the Lord’s purpose will prevail.”
On Saturday afternoon, my dad and I were cleaning up tree limbs. We were in a truck and drove by Lake Pointe Church where my family attend. He asked me a question about a church and that leads in to a conversation and at the end of the conversation, I shared the gospel with my dad for the first time.
We had a plan to go to Paris, the Lord had a different plan. It was for me to share the Good News with my dad.
I want to ask “Lord, can it be done in Paris? I guess for me, there is not better place to share the Good News in Rockwall Texas than any other place!
John 14:10 Jesus said
“Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I speak are not my own, butmy Father who lives in me does his work through me.”
Holy Spirit is in you, let Him work through you.
Have a great week!
